In June this year was when we first got our eyes on an upcoming LG Android-powered smartphone that featured a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard which was split in two to make room for a second touchscreen tucked in the middle of the keyboard. Even back then, the phone had T-Mobile branding, and now it seems pretty clear that that’s where it’s headed whenever it will see the light of day.

T-Mobile today announced the addition of two new phones to its myTouch stable, the LG myTouch and myTouch Q. Shared features between the phones include: Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 1GHz Qualcomm processor, 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture, and user-facing cameras for video chatting.

Best Buy has outed the LG Optimus Slider today by listing the device as “coming soon” on their website. We thought we had this pegged for Sprint but it looks like they may have passed on this device, instead handing it off to Virgin Mobile.

LG Mobile started off the week by unveiling a new industry-first phone. The previously seen Optimus EX is one of the first to ship with NVIDIA's upgraded 1.2GHz Tegra 2 chip, which lets it play 1080p video where the earlier model stopped at 720p. A very bright 700-nit, IPS-based four-inch LCD makes it easier to see outside while also giving it good color accuracy and wide viewing angles.
